Dr. D. Patel is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician with over nine years of hospital-based clinical experience. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at The Brooklyn Hospital Center in New York City, where he trained alongside diverse patient populations and developed the diagnostic rigor that defines his practice today.
After nearly a decade of caring for hospitalized patients with complex medical conditions, Dr. Patel founded Empathy Primary Care to bring that same depth of clinical expertise to the outpatient setting. He believes that patients in primary care deserve the same thoroughness, attention, and time as patients in the hospital — not seven-minute visits and rushed conversations.
Dr. Patel currently maintains hospital admitting privileges at JPS Health Network in Fort Worth and Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, allowing him to provide continuity of care for his patients when hospitalization is required.

At Empathy Primary Care, every visit is built around the patient. Appointments last 30 to 60 minutes. Members have direct access to their physician by phone, text, and email. Care is transparent and unhurried — no rushed conversations, no feeling like just another number.
